RTS 4192 - Pat Boone - Love Letters in the Sand

Cover Image

Uniquely presenting both sides of Pat Boone – the hitmaker and the song stylist – here is the perfect survey of his golden years 1955-1960s. Charles Eugene “Pat” Boone (b.1934) was, second only to Elvis himself, the top idol of the Rock ’n’ Roll years of the late 50s. Retrospective’s double album Love Letters In The Sand (the title of his greatest hit) present his 61 finest tracks from these heady years. Disc One includes 25 of his momentous chart hits, among them I’ll Be Home, Don’t Forbid Me, A Wonderful Time Up There, Friendly Persuasion, Remember You’re Mine, April Love and so many more. By contrast Disc Two concentrates on Pat Boone, the inspired interpreter of ‘standards’, those great songs that have stood the test of time. There are generous selections from his Tenderly and Moonglow LPs, and others, together with the entire contents of his wonderful Star Dust album from 1958. This is the warm baritone voice at its very best.
